Founded in 2018 by silicon photonics industry veterans with decades of commercial product development and manufacturing experience, SiLC is making machine perception more like human perception, and we’re doing it through longer range, higher resolution, more data and more integration.
From day one, we’ve been focused on developing a fully integrated solution using our proprietary silicon photonic integration platform. We are bringing forth our deep expertise in silicon photonics to advance market deployment of coherent 4D imaging solutions.
We use a proprietary silicon-based semiconductor fabrication process to manufacture our chips and standard automated IC style assembly processes, enabling robust, cost-effective and compact solutions. SiLC’s breakthrough chip integrates all photonics functions needed to enable a coherent 4D vision sensor offering a tiny footprint while addressing the need for low-cost and low-power. Demonstrations have shown a range beyond 300 meters and are applicable to a wide range of applications.
Very early on, we realized that our approach was the only way to make a complex optical system, such as what is needed for FMCW, cost effective and robust.
SiLC has been described as the only company that has a viable approach for large-scale adoption of LiDAR in automotive and industrial robotics. The transformative power of our coherent 4D imaging chips will usher in an era of smarter automation.
