JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and simulation of silicon photonic integrated optical components and circuits

  • Transfer of designs to manufacturing, working closely with wafer process engineers

  • Preparation of documentation for design libraries and design reviews

  • Production of test plans for fabricated devices

  • Analysis and presentation of test data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in integrated optics/silicon photonics

  • 3+ years of relevant experience including the design of passive and WDM devices (AWG and echelle grating)

  • Proficiency in standard integrated optical simulation and design tools, and in MATLAB/C++ coding

  • Good understanding of silicon fabrication processes

  • Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines

Senior Mechanical Assembly Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop LIDAR and 3D sensing packaging assemblies

  • Design optomechanical and electrical interfaces to an integrated LIDAR semiconductor chip

  • Specify and source suitable sub-assemblies and components

  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure design for manufacturability and efficient transfer to production

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum BS in engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of relevant optoelectronic/optomechanical packaging experience

  • Knowledge of CAD software including Solidworks

  • Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of working with LIDAR systems

  • Experience of integrated optical device packaging

  • Experience of free space optical design

Senior LiDAR Test/System Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop LIDAR and 3D sensing systems based on a silicon photonics integrated semiconductor chip platform

  • Specify and source application-specific hardware and electronics

  • Write system control and data acquisition software

  • Develop test methods, processes and procedures for LIDAR system characterization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in engineering or a related field

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, including working with LIDAR systems

  • Proficiency in MATLAB/C++ coding

  • Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of silicon photonic circuits

  • Experience of ASIC design

  • Experience of PCB design

Photonics and Laser Systems Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test and characterization of laser devices, materials and systems

  • Develop and set up test rigs and test methodology

  • Test automation and automated data processing and analysis

  • Design, simulation and evaluation of laser devices and silicon photonic integrated optical components

  • Preparation of documentation for component specifications, design libraries and design reviews

  • Production of test plans for manufactured devices

  • Analysis and presentation of test data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s in SC lasers/integrated optics/silicon photonics

  • Hands-on experience of testing optical devices

  • Proficiency in test setup and automation and Python/MATLAB/C++ coding

  • Basic knowledge in standard integrated optical simulation and design tools

  • Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of silicon photonic circuits

  • Basic understanding of coherent optical communications/systems is a plus

Digital Design Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently develop, implement & integrate complex digital signal processing algorithms and control logic in FPGAs

  • Independently develop embedded firmware to support setup and control of FPGA and other ICs in the system

  • Perform hands-on verification and debug of hardware/firmware in the lab

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS in Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years of technical experience in the design of FPGA and embedded systems

  • Highly proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog for synthesis and simulation

  • Highly proficient in physical design (timing closure, floor planning, etc.) for FPGAs

  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado including knowledge of their block design editor and IP catalog

  • Experience with using ILAs to observe internal operation of designs for data capture

  • Experience with Xilinx SDK including creating projects, first stage boot loaders (FSBL) and boot images

  • Experience in embedded programming in C/C++

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment for hardware bring-up and characterization

  • Good technical writing skills for writing design specifications documents

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Experience in programming/scripting using Python, Perl, TCK and CSH.

  • Experience with DDR4, Ethernet MAC, SerDes interfaces, JESD 204B/C

Mixed-Signal ASIC Designer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform system simulations in MATLAB and Verilog-A

  • Independently analyze the system requirements and translate them to circuit specifications

  • Come up with circuit architectures that can meet the requirements

  • Design, implement and test the circuits using discrete components

  • Design schematic and layout for integrated circuits

  • Simulate circuit schematic and post-layout extracted views in Cadence and/or other design tools

  • Integrate and interface the electronic circuits into the sensing system with photonic parts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience or MSc with 7+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering

  • Multiple tape-out experiences with analog, RF, and mixed-signal IC blocks

  • Familiar with PVT corner simulations

  • Comfortable with using a range of lab instruments such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with debugging and fixing complex experimental setups and circuits

  • Good technical writing skills for documenting design specifications and test results

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Experience with designing photonic interface circuits (e.g. TIAs) and low-noise laser drivers

  • Knowledge of basic digital design flow

  • Familiar with programming languages such as Python, C, etc.

  • Background in LiDAR or FMCW radar
